Grahame brought strong administration and business skills and deals with the business management of the Home. Gillian has thirteen years care experience and was formely a MLSO in the NHS. In 2004 Grahame and Gill became sole proprietors, Gill who had been working at the Home for six years, the last two years as Deputy Care Manager, and was promoted to Care Manager in July 2006.
Care
It is our aim to provide residents with a "HOME FROM HOME" environment in which Residents have the freedom to live their own lives within an umbrella of care suited to their individually assessed needs. Provision for personal needs such as occupational therapy, specialist medical, dental, chiropody, therapeutic and other care professionals will be arranged for residents where required. Referals and enquiries are received from both health and social care professionals and family members. After viewing, an assessment of a prospective Resident will be carried out and we will offer advice and information to family members. It is essential to ascertain that the Home can meet the needs of the Resident and all stakeholders are satisfied that Keep Hill is the best possible placement.
We see continuity as important and so encourage residents to retain their existing Doctor where practicable, or if preferred a transfer to the Doctor attached to the home can be arranged.
Care planning becomes an integral process of continuing care for each Resident. All care is quality assessed to ensure individual care for each Resident meets their changing needs and builds on their strengths and weaknesses. Best practices ensure that the highest standards of person centred care are achieved. Reviews of Residents care is carried out by the Care Manager monthly. Additionally, periodic assessments are organized where the Resident, family members and social care professionals have the opportunity to discuss any care issues or changes.
The Rooms
All rooms are centrally heated and equipped with a wash hand basin, a television point and an emergency nurse-call system. Some rooms have en-suite facilities. The four upstairs rooms are served by a roomy passenger lift. Most rooms have private telephone points.
Furnishings
We know how pleasing it can be for Residents to retain their own furniture to create familiar surroundings within their room. We would encourage our Residents to discuss with us what could be brought into Home from their own personal effects to furnish their room to their liking. We will do our utmost to provide a homely environment within their room.
Residents are entitled to bring a television and radio/music player for use in their own private room. The Home will arrange for the concessionary TV licence. Any Resident who is hard of hearing or with poor eyesight will be assisted in receiving the appropriate help.

The Home provides good home cooking and a laundry service, room cleaning, and help with washing and dressing if needed. The Home has links with a local day centre, which meets once a week, and all Residents have the opportunity to join.
